Care to indulge me for a minute? Thanks — I’ll be brief. As I have somewhat tongue-in-cheek lamented before, I have way too many story ideas. Even after weeding through them with something like a refining eye, I still have more than I can ever convert into finished work.
Hmmm, I see in my mind an old man with tattered clothes, slightly humped over with a cane who may or may not be mildly injured. Asher sees him hiding under a table after the bomb and while helping him the man in return helps Asher. Though the man is homeless and does not have much, he takes him to his "place" under a bridge and together they navigate the best way to find Ashers family.
Great suggestion! I can visualize so much more of the story now…they’re total strangers, but they are both marginalized/overlooked by others, which allows them to relate without a common language. My imagination is racing! 🐎
I’m debating whether Asher should make a friend who helps him get around the city. I’m torn between the idea of him befriending a local boy, a kindly old man, or maybe even a dog. Do you have any thoughts on that? 🙃

I would see this as a novel and it is definitely a book I would be interested in reading!
Great! I’ll add it to my queue :)
